    Registration and Check-in will take place on Sunday, June 27th from 9am-5pm by Casanova conference room 506, and Monday, June 28th from 7:30am - 3:00pm by the Galileo conference room 902.  Once you have arrived at the Venetian and have checked into your hotel room, please proceed to the check-in for the event and receive your Welcome Packet of information that will include a map of the hotel and conference rooms, your Fauxcademy ID Card for access to all seminars and events, and your Fauxcademy Event book  Please present your confirmation letter and invoice receipt along with photo ID, to the Fauxcademy Staff person at check-In.

    Transportation

    The Venetian does not offer complimentary Shuttle Service, however, you may arrange for limo pick-up through the hotel concierge.  Cab Fares run approximately $10-$15 per person one way from the Airport.


    Climate

    The average temperature in Las Vegas in Jun/Jul is 103°F (Dry Heat).  Please drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated.


    Hotel Check-In

    The Venetian will require a Credit Card upon check-in to cover miscellaneous expenses.  If you are sharing a room with 3 or more people, be advised that the hotel charges $35.00 per person per day for more than 2 adults in a room, if they are aware of the extra adults.

    Plan for a week full of many different sights, sounds, and temperatures!  Your suitcase should be as diverse as the seminar topics you will be attending.


    Seminars

    Casual attire is appropriate for all seminars and demonstrations, you will not need to bring your painting clothes. Jeans, walking shorts, T-shirts, polo shirts, slacks, blouses, etc.  Please no beach attire.  The point here is to be comfortable.  Please note: All seminars are being held in large conference rooms with air conditioning running so please bring a light sweater or jacket in case you get cold.


    Adventures

  • Tuesday:  Pirates of the Fauxcademy
    Tis an optional costume party, so bring yer swimin' clothes underneath yer Pirate rags, and prepare to walk the plank Arrrr!!

  • Thursday:  The Fauxcademy of Stars!
    This is an evening of glamour and elegance, tonight is your night to be recognized, so dress to impress!  Black Tie is optional, but preferred and Evening Gowns are most appropriate.

  • Friday:  Grand Finale!
    Can't tell you too much about this event, it's a surprise.  You should dress in Business Casual attire, slacks, dress, blouses, blazers, and/or collared shirts are appropriate!

    All Seminars will be held in either the Galileo conference rooms, or in the Venetian "G" Ballrooms, and most seminars will begin at 8:30am each day with the exception of the Welcome and Keynote Seminar, this will begin at 8:00am.  Seminars and Demonstrations will hold approximately 100-180 attendees and each room will have a sound system and large 10 foot screen, so viewing will not be a problem.


    Morning Yoga

    There will be morning Yoga sessions Monday through Thursday from 7:00a to 7:30a.  Join Melissa Erdmann as she helps you begin your day with a clear mind ready to absorb the incredible amount of information that you will be exposed to.  Ms. Erdmann has developed 4 different Hatha Yoga sessions to focus on the areas of strength needed for the Faux and Decorative Artist.  These Yoga sessions are designed for both beginners and advanced practitioners.  Yoga mats will be available, please make sure that you wear comfortable workout clothes.


    Morning Announcements

    There will be morning announcements each day from 8:00a to 8:15am to review that day's itinerary and to communicate general information about the event or hotel, as well as a means for those attendees not staying at the Venetian to get important information.  This is not a mandatory function and is offered as a service to the attendees.  Important information for those staying at the Venetian will be communicated to you via your in-room phone messaging system.


    Mastermind Sessions

    The Mastermind Sessions are one of the keys to the Fauxcademy.  This is the opportunity for you to brainstorm key industry topics that affect your business.  The information you take away from this session is worth the trip alone.  Please review the topics on the Fauxcademy Website and be prepared to spend 5-7 min of intense discussions on each of the 14 topics with a group of people to come up with ideas and suggestions on how to handle these important issues.  Imagine the amount of information and ideas that can come from over 300 people focused on these topics.  All ideas and information will be shared with the group at the end!


    Vaulted Secrets

    The vault is being opened and you will be turned loose to grab the bountiful treasured secrets that wait behind the door.  Faux Effects International and the industry's leading schools and artists will be inside to share with you new products and treasured secrets.  You will be given the opportunity to speak with each of the Masters about their schools, techniques, and finishes, and best of all... collect their recipes for some of their favorite finishes!

    Monday:  Free Time

    Monday night is on your own, please feel free to experience the glamour and ambiance that is the Venetian!  Visit the Guggenheim Museum, gamble in the casino, take in a show, stroll down the Grand Canal for Shopping, or take a gondola ride down the Grand Canal!


    Tuesday:  Pirates of the Fauxcademy

    Avast me mateys Arrr!  This is the ultimate pool party!  Join Capn' Jack Slappy and Ol' Chumbucket for an evening of Fun, Games, incredible food (yes, we are feedin' ya swabs), and lots of Pirattitude!  This year's King and Queen will be crowned Arrrr... but not before we make em' sweat and get em' wet by walking the plank (not a real plank mind ye. Arrrr)!  4 Teams made up of 4 Pirate and Pirate Wenches will be randomly selected from the entire vessel, and will compete for the coveted Crown jewels and free registration to Fauxcademy 2006!  So prepare for lots of laughs and fun, and who knows…you may be the one to Walk The Plank!  Arrrr!


    Wednesday:  Free Time

    Wednesday is on your own, make an appointment in the Canyon Ranch Spa for a soothing massage, go nightclubbing around the strip, take in another amazing show, or just hang out with your new friends in one of the hotel's many bars and restaurants!


    Thursday:  The Fauxcademy of Stars!

    There is nothing more rewarding than to be recognized by your peers, and tonight we honor YOU!  This is a glamorous evening to celebrate all of your hard work, creativity, and talent!  Enjoy a cocktail at the cash bar with all of your new found friends, have your picture taken to capture this memorable evening, and watch the huge 16' screens as all of the entries are displayed.  Sit down to another incredible dinner and prepare for the excitement of the award ceremony, where the top 3 in each category will be recognized and presented on stage with their award!


    Friday:  Grand Finale!

    Join the Fauxcademy staff for the Surprise Grand Finale, where you will unlock one of the keys to greater success!  There are many treasures to be found and none more exciting than 2 Faux-Filled Trailers!  You do not want to miss this event!  There are no better odds in Vegas!
